Elon Musk is on his way to becoming the world's first trillionaire &


 

could secure a record $1 trillion (£761bn) pay package, the largest in corporate history after 75% of Tesla shareholders approved a new performance-based plan.

To earn it, Musk must lead Tesla to produce 20 million vehicles and one million AI-powered robots over the next decade, while also boosting profits and naming a successor.

If all targets are met, his ownership could rise from 13% to nearly 29%.

Musk, 54, already tops Forbes’ rich list with $493bn (£375bn) still short of history’s richest man, John D. Rockefeller, whose wealth in today’s terms was $630bn (£480bn).

Eminent Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has alleged medical negligence in the death of her 21-month-old son, Nkanu Nnamdi, who passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.  Adichie’s media team confirmed to ARISE News on Saturday that the author penned a detailed statement of the incident, which was originally shared privately with family and close friends before becoming public. In the statement, Adichie said her son was taken to Euracare Hospital for an MRI scan and the insertion of a central line. He was sedated for the procedure but allegedly not properly monitored after being administered propofol, resulting in severe complications, including loss of responsiveness, seizures, and cardiac arrest. Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday granted bail to the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abdulaziz Malami , his wife, and his son. Each defendant was admitted to bail in the sum of ₦500 million, accompanied by stringent conditions intended to ensure their appearance for trial. The court's decision follows Malami’s period in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where he has been held since December 8. His detention followed a reported failure to satisfy administrative bail terms previously established by the commission. In his ruling, Justice Nwite mandated that each defendant must provide two sureties in like sum. Arsenal and England ace midfielder Declan Rice has been hit with a six-month driving ban after being caught speeding twice on the same road in just one week. The £105million midfielder was first caught doing 37mph in a 30mph zone on January 3 last year. Barely five days later, the 26-year-old was caught again on the same stretch of the A217, hit for doing 49mph in a 40mph limit. The England international, who did not attend the hearing at Crawley Magistrates Court Tuesday, 01/06/25, he was hit with a £2,185 bill in fines and costs.  The disqualification comes after the new offences took his license to 15 points, way over the total limit. Elon Musk 's X has officially suspended the iconic @ twitter handle in a move that marks the final symbolic severance from its past. The account, dormant since Elon Musk’s $44 billion takeover, now displays a "Rule Violation" notice, though the company has not specified which policy was broken. The move marks a symbolic end for the "Blue Bird" era. Since the 2023 rebrand, Musk has steadily erased legacy features to make room for his "everything app" vision.
