  R&B singer, R. Kelly, on Wednesday, was sentenced to 30 years in prison. This follows his conviction last year on federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges. Kelly is accused of using his fame to ensnare victims he sexually abused. Prosecutors had asked the judge to sentence the 55-year-old to more than 25 years behind bars, while his defense attorneys asked for 10 or fewer, saying prosecutors’ request was “tantamount to a life sentence.” Last September, a jury convicted Kelly on nine counts, including one charge of racketeering and eight counts of violations of the Mann Act, a sex trafficking law.

Millions of women in the US will lose the constitutional right to abortion, after the Supreme Court overturned its 50-year-old Roe v Wade decision. The judgement paves the way for individual states to ban the procedure. Half are expected to introduce new restrictions or bans. Thirteen have already passed so-called trigger laws to automatically outlaw abortion. President Joe Biden described it as "a tragic error" and urged states to enact laws to allow the procedure. According to court filings, Brin filed a petition for divorce of his marriage to Nicole Shanahan this month, citing “irreconcilable disagreements.” The couple, who have a three-year-old boy, requested that court documents be sealed in order to keep the specifics of their divorce confidential. The 48-year-old American billionaire has a net worth of $94 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which is mostly derived from his stakes in Google, which he co-founded with Larry Page in 1998 and later merged with Alphabet Inc.
