Frank Onyeka gave the Super Eagles an early lead, but Meschack Elia equalised before halftime. Both sides failed to find a winner in a tense second half and 30 minutes of extra time, leaving the match tied 1–1. Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday granted bail to the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abdulaziz Malami , his wife, and his son. Each defendant was admitted to bail in the sum of ₦500 million, accompanied by stringent conditions intended to ensure their appearance for trial. The court's decision follows Malami’s period in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where he has been held since December 8. His detention followed a reported failure to satisfy administrative bail terms previously established by the commission. In his ruling, Justice Nwite mandated that each defendant must provide two sureties in like sum. A high court has remanded 52 students of Ambrose Alli University (AAU) , following a protest against local insecurity that turned violent in Ekpoma, Edo State. The demonstration was initially organized by residents to decry a recent surge in killings and kidnappings. The Rivers State House of Assembly has commenced impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Oduh . During Thursday’s plenary, presided over by Speaker Martins Amaewhule and broadcast live on Channels Television, the House Majority Leader, Major Jack, read out a notice of allegations and gross misconduct against the governor. The notice, signed by 26 lawmakers, cited breaches of the Nigerian Constitution. Speaker Amaewhule stated that the notice would be formally served on Governor Fubara within seven days. Deputy Majority Leader Linda Stewart also presented a separate notice of allegations against Deputy Governor Oduh. Both notices were issued pursuant to Section 188 of the 1999 Constitution. Arsenal and England ace midfielder Declan Rice has been hit with a six-month driving ban after being caught speeding twice on the same road in just one week. The £105million midfielder was first caught doing 37mph in a 30mph zone on January 3 last year. Barely five days later, the 26-year-old was caught again on the same stretch of the A217, hit for doing 49mph in a 40mph limit. He reportedly fled the country shortly after the incident and was declared wanted by Nigerian authorities. Vince Zampella , the influential co-creator of the Call of Duty franchise and founder of Respawn Entertainment, was killed Sunday 12/21/25 in a high-speed, single-car accident in the San Gabriel Mountains. He was 55 years. The crash occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. on a scenic stretch of road north of Los Angeles. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Zampella was driving a 2026 Ferrari 296 GTS southbound when the vehicle veered off the pavement immediately after exiting a tunnel. The red sports car struck a concrete barrier with enough force to eject a passenger from the vehicle. While the passenger was rushed to a local hospital, they later succumbed to their injuries.
