Arsenal and England star Declan Rice banned from driving for 6 months

Image
Arsenal and England ace midfielder Declan Rice has been hit with a six-month driving ban after being caught speeding twice on the same road in just one week. The £105million midfielder was first caught doing 37mph in a 30mph zone on January 3 last year. Barely five days later, the 26-year-old was caught again on the same stretch of the A217, hit for doing 49mph in a 40mph limit. The England international, who did not attend the hearing at Crawley Magistrates Court Tuesday, 01/06/25, he was hit with a £2,185 bill in fines and costs.  The disqualification comes after the new offences took his license to 15 points, way over the total limit. Manchester United sack Ruben Amorim as Head Coach

Image
Manchester United have sacked head coach Ruben Amorim after a turbulent 14-month tenure, following a definitive breakdown in relations between the Portuguese manager and the club’s hierarchy. The decision was triggered by a public power struggle over recruitment. Following Sunday’s disappointing draw at Leeds, Amorim launched a stinging attack on the club’s recruitment department, demanding they “do their job.” United officials moved swiftly on Monday morning to terminate his contract. In an official statement, the club cited a lack of progress on the pitch as the primary reason for the dismissal, with United currently sitting sixth in the Premier League table. "The club’s leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change," the statement read. "This will give the team the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish. The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution and wishes him well for the f...

Anthony Joshua knocked out Jake Paul in the sixth round of their highly anticipated bout in Miami, ending the contest decisively. The British two-time world heavyweight champion is now expected to pursue a long-awaited showdown with fellow Briton Tyson Fury. Paul exceeded expectations by surviving the early rounds against Joshua in a fight that drew widespread attention and controversy across the boxing world.    ________________________ ________________________ The contest, which reportedly saw both fighters share a staggering $184 million purse, raised concerns because of the vast difference in size, experience and pedigree between Joshua, a former two-time world champion, and Paul, an internet personality turned boxer. At one point, even referee Christopher Young appeared frustrated, admonishing both fighters in the fourth round, telling them: “The fans did not pay to see this.” As the bout wore on and Paul began to get tired, Joshua increased the ...

YouTube star-turned-boxer Jake Paul (28) is set to face British heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua (36) in a highly anticipated and widely criticised boxing showdown. The bout, scheduled for Florida, will end a 14-month absence from the ring for 36-year-old Joshua, while representing the biggest and most dangerous test yet for 28-year-old Paul since he launched his professional boxing career in 2020. Paul has long insisted he wants to measure himself against the sport’s most feared punchers, the kind of fighter many professionals spend a lifetime avoiding, and the clash with Joshua fulfils that ambition. The fight will take place on Friday, December 19, at the Kaseya Center in Miami. The eight-round professional heavyweight contest will be streamed live worldwide on Netflix, beginning at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. PT). Betting odds heavily favour Joshua, who is given an 88.9 per cent chance of victory, while Paul is rated at around 10 per cent, with a draw priced at 2...

Nigeria Knocked Out of 2026 World Cup after Penalty Shoot-Out Loss to DR Congo ¡

Image
Nigeria will miss a second consecutive FIFA World Cup after falling to DR Congo in a penalty shootout in the CAF playoff final. Frank Onyeka gave the Super Eagles an early lead, but Meschack Elia equalised before halftime. Both sides failed to find a winner in a tense second half and 30 minutes of extra time, leaving the match tied 1–1. DR Congo captain Chancel Mbemba converted the decisive penalty to send his team to the inter-confederation playoff, where they will seek their first World Cup appearance since 1974. Mbemba had also scored the late winner in Congo’s 1–0 victory over Cameroon in Thursday’s semifinal, and once again emerged as the hero in the final. Share this story
