Charlie Kirk, President Trump's ally, Assassinated in Utah

Charles James Kirk (October 14, 1993 – September 10, 2025) was an American right-wing political activist, author, and media personality.

On September 10, 2025, while on stage at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, for a TPUSA event known as "The American Comeback Tour", Kirk was fatally shot in the neck. The shooting took place around 12:20 p.m. MDT (18:20 UTC), 20 minutes after the event began.

Footage recorded at the moment of the shooting shows him recoiling while speaking and blood pouring from his neck. A university spokesperson later stated that a suspect was in custody, but the person was determined not to be the shooter.

Kirk was taken to the Timpanogos Regional Hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead later that afternoon at the age of 31.

His death was publicly announced by US president Donald Trump at 4:40 p.m. EDT (20:40 UTC) in a post on Truth Social, and was later confirmed by Kirk's spokesperson.

At 6:21 p.m. EDT (22:21 UTC), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director Kash Patel announced on social media that a "subject" was in custody.

Utah governor Spencer Cox confirmed that there was one person in custody and that it was believed the perpetrator acted alone.

This individual was later released after interrogation.

At a press conference, FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls described the investigation as "in its early stages" and encouraged members of the public to come forward with information.

Charlie Kirk co-founded the conservative organization Turning Point USA (TPUSA) in 2012 and was its executive director. He was the chief executive officer (CEO) of Turning Point Action (TPAction) and a member of the Council for National Policy (CNP).

Court grants former AGF Malami, Wife & Son 1.5 Billion Naira Bail

Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday granted bail to the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abdulaziz Malami , his wife, and his son. Each defendant was admitted to bail in the sum of ₦500 million, accompanied by stringent conditions intended to ensure their appearance for trial. The Rivers State House of Assembly has commenced impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Oduh . During Thursday’s plenary, presided over by Speaker Martins Amaewhule and broadcast live on Channels Television, the House Majority Leader, Major Jack, read out a notice of allegations and gross misconduct against the governor. The notice, signed by 26 lawmakers, cited breaches of the Nigerian Constitution. Speaker Amaewhule stated that the notice would be formally served on Governor Fubara within seven days. The United States has announced a partial suspension of the issuance of certain visas to Nigerian nationals, effective from January 1, 2026, following a new presidential proclamation on border and national security. In a statement issued on Monday, the US Mission in Nigeria said the restriction will take effect at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on January 1, 2026, in line with Presidential Proclamation 10998, titled “Restricting and Limiting the Entry of Foreign Nationals to Protect the Security of the United States.” Nigeria is among 19 countries affected by the measure. Vince Zampella , the influential co-creator of the Call of Duty franchise and founder of Respawn Entertainment, was killed Sunday 12/21/25 in a high-speed, single-car accident in the San Gabriel Mountains.
