Preliminary Reports on London Bound Air India Flight 171 that killed 260 people

Fuel to the engines of Air India Flight 171- which crashed killing 260 people in June - was cut off moments after take-off, a preliminary investigation report has found.


According to data from the flight recorder, both of the plane's fuel control switches moved from the run to the cut-off position in the space of a second, shortly after take-off.

In recovered cockpit voice recordings, the report said one of the pilots can be heard asking "hey did you cut off?" to which the other pilot replied he "did not do so". It is not clear which pilot said what.


The London-bound Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed less than a minute after taking off on 12 June from Ahmedabad airport in western India, killing 260 people, most of them passengers. One British national miraculously survived the crash.

American Amanda Anisimova will face off against Polish tennis star Iga Świątek in the Wimbledon women's singles final on Saturday. No. 13 seed Anisimova secured her place in the Wimbledon final in a nail-biting match, defeating world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 on Centre Court. This achievement comes 18 months after Anisimova stepped away from tennis to focus on her mental health after the death of her father and tennis coach. With this victory, Anisimova became the first American to reach the Wimbledon final since Serena Williams in 2019. BREAKING: UAE Bans Visas for Nigerians aged 18-45 years

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has recently imposed fresh travel restrictions on Nigerian nationals, including the suspension of transit visas and stricter rules for tourist visa applications. These new measures come after a period of visa bans and diplomatic tension between the two countries.  Specifically, the UAE has banned transit visas for Nigerians and introduced new eligibility requirements for tourist visas. For those aged 18-45, tourist visas are now restricted to those who are accompanied, while older applicants (45+) need to provide a bank statement showing a minimum balance of $10,000 USD per month for the past six months.  These changes follow a period of visa restrictions and diplomatic issues between the UAE and Nigeria, including a ban on Emirates flights to Nigeria. The UAE had previously lifted a 21-month visa ban on Nigerians, but these new restrictions indicate a continued tightening of travel policies.  Source : Google
