Rapper Cardi B has turned part of her newborn’s umbilical cord into a gold-coated keepsake, according to Momento, the company that made it.

Eminent Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has alleged medical negligence in the death of her 21-month-old son, Nkanu Nnamdi, who passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.  Adichie’s media team confirmed to ARISE News on Saturday that the author penned a detailed statement of the incident, which was originally shared privately with family and close friends before becoming public. In the statement, Adichie said her son was taken to Euracare Hospital for an MRI scan and the insertion of a central line. He was sedated for the procedure but allegedly not properly monitored after being administered propofol, resulting in severe complications, including loss of responsiveness, seizures, and cardiac arrest. Arsenal and England ace midfielder Declan Rice has been hit with a six-month driving ban after being caught speeding twice on the same road in just one week. The £105million midfielder was first caught doing 37mph in a 30mph zone on January 3 last year. Barely five days later, the 26-year-old was caught again on the same stretch of the A217, hit for doing 49mph in a 40mph limit. Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday granted bail to the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abdulaziz Malami , his wife, and his son. Each defendant was admitted to bail in the sum of ₦500 million, accompanied by stringent conditions intended to ensure their appearance for trial. The court's decision follows Malami’s period in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where he has been held since December 8. His detention followed a reported failure to satisfy administrative bail terms previously established by the commission. In his ruling, Justice Nwite mandated that each defendant must provide two sureties in like sum. The United States has announced a partial suspension of the issuance of certain visas to Nigerian nationals, effective from January 1, 2026, following a new presidential proclamation on border and national security. In a statement issued on Monday, the US Mission in Nigeria said the restriction will take effect at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on January 1, 2026, in line with Presidential Proclamation 10998, titled “Restricting and Limiting the Entry of Foreign Nationals to Protect the Security of the United States.” Nigeria is among 19 countries affected by the measure. A Romanian court has sentenced American rapper Wiz Khalifa to nine months’ imprisonment after he admitted to smoking cannabis on stage during a music festival. A Nigerian delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, met with Burkina Faso’s military leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, in Ouagadougou on Wednesday, conveying a message of solidarity from President Bola Tinubu. In a statement, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, confirmed that the pilots and crew were released on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
