Sabinus confirms Divorce from Ciana Chapman

Popular comedian Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, widely known as Sabinus, has confirmed the end of his marriage to Ciana Chapman. Speaking during a recent TikTok live session, the skit maker revealed that the union, which began in 2023, ended amicably.

He explained that he and his former wife remain on good terms and are focused on the well-being of their daughter. Responding to rumours of marital issues, including allegations of domestic violence and infidelity, Sabinus dismissed the claims, saying: 

“I’m not married. My marriage ended peacefully. The mum and I are good. My daughter is okay, and she is doing fine.”

His confirmation comes after months of speculation about the couple’s relationship, despite earlier denials from both parties.

The United States has announced a partial suspension of the issuance of certain visas to Nigerian nationals, effective from January 1, 2026, following a new presidential proclamation on border and national security. In a statement issued on Monday, the US Mission in Nigeria said the restriction will take effect at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on January 1, 2026, in line with Presidential Proclamation 10998, titled “Restricting and Limiting the Entry of Foreign Nationals to Protect the Security of the United States.” Nigeria is among 19 countries affected by the measure. Others listed include Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burundi, Côte d’Ivoire, Cuba, Dominica, Gabon, The Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Senegal, Tanzania, Togo, Tonga, Venezuela, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Godiya Akwashiki , Nigerian Senator representing Nasarawa North Senatorial District, has died at the age of 52. A family source confirmed to journalists that the lawmaker passed away on Wednesday at a hospital in India, where he had been receiving treatment for a protracted illness. The family, in a statement, described his passing as a "great loss" to Nasarawa State and the country at large. Prior to being flown abroad, Akwashiki had reportedly been battling health challenges for several months. Born on August 3, 1973, in Angba Iggah, Akwashiki was a seasoned legislator. German police have launched an intensive manhunt after one of the largest bank heists in Germany’s recent history, in which thieves drilled into the underground vault of a Sparkasse savings bank in Gelsenkirchen and stole cash, gold and jewellery estimated at about €30 million . The carefully planned robbery occurred over the Christmas holiday in the Buer district of Gelsenkirchen, western Germany. Investigators believe the suspects took advantage of the prolonged holiday closure to access the vault unnoticed. Police said the gang drilled through a thick concrete wall to enter the basement vault, where they systematically forced open thousands of customer safe deposit boxes and removed valuables worth tens of millions of euros. Burkina Faso ’s military government has confirmed the detention of 11 Nigerian military personnel and the seizure of a Nigerian Air Force cargo aircraft that entered the country’s airspace without authorisation before making an emergency landing.
