Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) on Monday alleged that Nigerian Immigration officials seized her passport at the airport, temporarily preventing her from travelling abroad.

In a live video shared on social media, the lawmaker claimed her travel document was withheld on the orders of Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
“Godswill Akpabio has instructed the Controller-General of Customs to withhold my passport. This is wrong,” she said.
Akpoti-Uduaghan further alleged that President Bola Tinubu had directed Attorney-General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi to withdraw all Federal Government lawsuits against her.
Her passport was later released by immigration officers, allowing her to proceed with her travel plans.
The senator was embroiled in a high-profile dispute with Akpabio earlier in the year over Senate seat reallocation, a confrontation that led to her six-month suspension effective March 6, 2025. She returned to legislative duties on September 24, 2025.
