A Nigerian Navy officer, Lt. A.M. Yerima recently involved in a confrontation with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike reportedly escaped an assassination attempt on Sunday evening. Military sources said Yerima was trailed by unidentified men in two unmarked Hilux vans from a NIPCO filling station along the Kubwa Expressway to Gado Nasco Way. He noticed the pursuit and executed a “strategic maneuver” to evade them around 6:30 p.m. The incident is under investigation. This comes days after Yerima’s heated clash with Wike over a disputed land site in Gaduwa, a confrontation caught on video and widely debated.
