Bernard Arnault could become richer than Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates, thanks to LVMH's record-breaking acquisition of Tiffany

Jeff Bezos may have just reclaimed the title of the richest man on Earth from Bill Gates, but he may be in danger of losing it to another centi-billionaire LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault.

A recent jump in LVMH's share price could push Arnault's net worth above that of both Bezos and Gates, CNN's Paul R. La Monica reported Tuesday. Currently, Arnault's net worth is $7 billion behind Gates and $8 billion behind Jeff Bezos, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Despite a recent history of stability, the wealth lists maintained by Forbes and Bloomberg have been unusually mobile in 2019 as the world's three richest men have become even more wealthy. Arnault displaced Warren Buffett from the No. 3 spot in March, and in June, he became only the third person in human history to accumulate a fortune of over $100 billion, Business Insider previously reported.

In July, Gates was temporarily ranked as the world's third-richest person behind Bezos and Arnault for the first time in at least seven years, according to Bloomberg. Then, in a surge in Microsoft's stock price led Bill Gates to first overcome Arnault, and then temporarily end Jeff Bezos' two-year reign as the richest person on Earth on November 19. Gates is now worth $110 billion .

Chicago drill rapper Devonsha Collier, known as THF Bayzoo and an associate of Lil Durk, was fatally shot this past weekend in Little Village, Chicago, authorities said. Collier, 35, was struck around 3 p.m. Saturday on the 3100 block of South St. Louis Avenue. Two other men, ages 39 and 42, were also injured. Collier was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead early Sunday. Police have ruled the case a homicide. No suspects were in custody as of Monday. Video allegedly showing the attack surfaced on social media shortly after the shooting. Collier was previously acquitted in a 2009 murder case after being arrested in 2014 at rapper Lil Durk’s Orland Park home. He was found not guilty in 2017. Share this story

Lagos Socialite, Pretty Mike Arrested by NDLEA over Drug Themed Party

" The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has detained popular Lagos socialite and nightclub proprietor, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, known as Pretty Mike, following a raid on his Victoria Island establishment where a suspected drug-themed party was taking place. The operation targeted Proxy Nightclub at 7 Akin Adesola Street in the early hours of Sunday, October 26th. According to an NDLEA statement by its Director, Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the agency had received intelligence about the nature of the event and sent undercover operatives into the venue from 11 pm on Saturday. The gathering was subsequently disrupted around 3 am on Sunday morning, in line with the agency’s Standard Operating Procedures. United States Revokes Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka's Visa

Nigerian Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka on Tuesday disclosed that the United States has revoked his visa, effectively barring him from entering the country for the time being. Speaking during a media session at Kongi’s Harvest Gallery in Freedom Park, Lagos, Soyinka said he was shocked by the development, stressing that he was unaware of any action that could have triggered the decision. “I felt it necessary to call this conference so those in the United States expecting me for engagements don't waste their time,” he said. “I have no visa; I am banned, obviously, from the United States.
