APC Convention: Excluding me on Ballot is a Recipe for Crisis – Yahaya Bello

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi has warned the All Progressives Congress, APC, that excluding his name on the ballot in today’s convention to elect the party’s presidential flag bearer for the 2023 election will be a recipe for trouble.


Governor Bello, who is one of the 23 aspirants cleared to contest for the party, ‘s presidential ticket in the 2023 election, said there is a conspiracy against him, accusing the APC northern governors and some elite of gang-up.



Describing himself as a leading aspirant that would win overwhelmingly if the process is transparent and credible, Bello said the only thing that could make him not contest the presidential primary is only if President Muhammadu Buhari tells him to step down.



Speaking to State House correspondents after meeting behind closed doors with the President, Bello said that the APC will retain power at the center if only it plays by the rules.

American Amanda Anisimova will face off against Polish tennis star Iga Świątek in the Wimbledon women's singles final on Saturday. No. 13 seed Anisimova secured her place in the Wimbledon final in a nail-biting match, defeating world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 on Centre Court. This achievement comes 18 months after Anisimova stepped away from tennis to focus on her mental health after the death of her father and tennis coach. With this victory, Anisimova became the first American to reach the Wimbledon final since Serena Williams in 2019. Anisimova will face Iga Świątek, who dominated Belinda Bencic with a score of 6-2, 6-0 to reach her first Wimbledon final. Nigerian Superstar Davido has recently become the first in Africa to purchase the all new $1m Lamborghini Revuelto. Preliminary Reports on London Bound Air India Flight 171 that killed 260 people

Fuel to the engines of Air India Flight 171- which crashed killing 260 people in June - was cut off moments after take-off, a preliminary investigation report has found. According to data from the flight recorder, both of the plane's fuel control switches moved from the run to the cut-off position in the space of a second, shortly after take-off. In recovered cockpit voice recordings, the report said one of the pilots can be heard asking "hey did you cut off?" to which the other pilot replied he "did not do so". It is not clear which pilot said what. The London-bound Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed less than a minute after taking off on 12 June from Ahmedabad airport in western India, killing 260 people, most of them passengers. One British national miraculously survived the crash.
