ASUU Strike: FG will drag you to court, Ngige warns Lecturers!

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has said the Federal Government will consider taking the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to the industrial court, if the reconciliation process to resolve the ongoing strike fails. ASUU embarked on a one-month warning strike on February 14, 2022, but it was extended on March 14 by eight weeks. The union cited its dissatisfaction with the Federal Government’s “disappointing” response on the matter. Since then, ASUU and the government have held several meetings, but no agreement has been reached. Speaking on Thursday in an interview with Channels Television, Ngige warned ASUU to refrain from “intimidating” officials in the ministry of digital communications and economy and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) over the deployment of the University Transparency Account System (UTAS) proposed by the union. WIMBLEDON FINALS: Who is Amanda Anisimova?

American Amanda Anisimova will face off against Polish tennis star Iga Świątek in the Wimbledon women's singles final on Saturday. No. 13 seed Anisimova secured her place in the Wimbledon final in a nail-biting match, defeating world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 on Centre Court. This achievement comes 18 months after Anisimova stepped away from tennis to focus on her mental health after the death of her father and tennis coach. With this victory, Anisimova became the first American to reach the Wimbledon final since Serena Williams in 2019. Anisimova will face Iga Świątek, who dominated Belinda Bencic with a score of 6-2, 6-0 to reach her first Wimbledon final. Nigerian Superstar Davido has recently become the first in Africa to purchase the all new $1m Lamborghini Revuelto. View this post on Instagram A post shared by MEB (@michaelehinderosblog) The Revuelto accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.5 seconds and has a top speed exceeding 350 km/h (217 mph).  The plug-in hybrid system focuses on performance enhancement rather than solely on fuel efficiency, offering instant acceleration alongside the traditional V12 engine sounds.  The Lamborghini Revuelto is a supercar that serves as the successor to the Aventador. It combines a 6.5-liter V12 engine with three electric motors, resulting in a total output of 1,015 horsepower. The Revuelto features a new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and is the first Lamborghini to utilize a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Preliminary Reports on London Bound Air India Flight 171 that killed 260 people

Fuel to the engines of Air India Flight 171- which crashed killing 260 people in June - was cut off moments after take-off, a preliminary investigation report has found. According to data from the flight recorder, both of the plane's fuel control switches moved from the run to the cut-off position in the space of a second, shortly after take-off. In recovered cockpit voice recordings, the report said one of the pilots can be heard asking "hey did you cut off?" to which the other pilot replied he "did not do so". It is not clear which pilot said what. The London-bound Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed less than a minute after taking off on 12 June from Ahmedabad airport in western India, killing 260 people, most of them passengers. One British national miraculously survived the crash.
