Nestle Sacks CEO Over Office Relationship!! Appoints Philipp Navratil as new CEO

Swiss food giant Nestle announced on September 1, 2025 it had dismissed Laurent Freixe as chief executive with immediate effect over an “undisclosed romantic relationship with a direct subordinate”. 

Nestlé's Board of Directors also announced that Philipp Navratil has been appointed as CEO of Nestlé.


“This was a necessary decision. Nestle’s values and governance are strong foundations of our company. I thank Laurent for his years of service,” chairman Paul Bulcke said in a statement.

The departure of Laurent Freixe follows an investigation into an undisclosed romantic relationship with a direct subordinate which breached Nestlé's Code of Business Conduct. 

In line with best practice corporate governance, the Board ordered an investigation overseen by Chairman Paul Bulcke and Lead Independent Director, Pablo Isla, with the support of independent outside counsel.
