Today on DIY: Here's the solution to that frustrating issue where your Smartphone Automatically Switches Mobile Data Connections or Loses Mobile Data Connection entirely {Android}
Most of us have definitely been in situations where you're probably on the move and you need to get some work done online quickly on your smartphone (especially if you're a CEO like me, lol) and you require a really fast 4G or 4G+ LTE connection but your mobile network will often connect to 4G rather than 4G+ LTE when both are available.
Or it probably connects automatically to 3G or worse 2G. Or maybe you just get poor mobile network at your residence or workplace. You've probably asked the following questions? How can I either make the mobile network:
• Only connect to 4G LTE
• Never connect to 4G
• Only connect to 4G+ LTE when both are available
• Strongly prefer the 4G+ LTE connection over the 4G even when LTE has less bars.
When this happens you can turn airplane mode on and off it may then reconnect to 4G LTE, or you might reboot your phone and get lucky.
But often times, it's like no matter what you try, the network won't just switch to the 4G or 4G+ connection you prefer, say no more, I come bearing solutions in this step by step guide I've personally compiled for you my amazing dear viewers. Just follow the instructions I've laid out step-by-step below and in no time you'll be back to the 4G+ LTE connection you so badly desire instantly!
STEP 1
Download the Elixir app from the play store
NB: If you've installed Elixir and you don't see the icon anywhere on your phone, don't panic, just use your search or finder and type in 'elixir' then go to step 2.
STEP 2
• Open Elixir & tap on information
• Click on Telephony
STEP 6
You can then scroll and choose the LTE only menu or whichever network you prefer.
Important Note: Make sure you understand the button you're selecting to avoid losing cell signal totally. I've highlighted the button you need to tap in green in the image above if 4G+ LTE is the network mode you desire.
That's it! Voila!! We're back to 4G+ LTE!
Hope this helps you. If you have any further questions kindly message us via our 'Social Page' at the bottom of this screen or via the 'Advert Enquiry' button at the top of the Home page. We'd ensure we respond as soon as we can.
